Dietetic Education

Dear Care Home Manager,

The local dietetic team have produced an online education platform for your staff regarding nutrition. The content has been written by your local Community Dietetic Lead and Prescribing Dietitian Janine Ramage & her community team. This platform is bespoke to your local ICB oral nutrition supplement guidelines/training content. This is a free digital platform & can be accessed on mobiles. The training is bitesize and is designed to be engaging and easy to use. Modules include:

-Malnutrition Universal Screening Tool (MUST)
-What is Malnutrition?
-Hydration for Health
-Food First/Food Fortification
-Food and Fluid Charts
-Nutrition in Palliative and End of Life Care
-Oral Nutrition Supplement

As the training manager, care home managers will be able to create accounts for all your staff as well as track their progress. This system has been rolled out across numerous ICB’s within the UK and Ireland and feedback from other care homes has been very positive. Notably, staff will all be issued with certificates of modules completed.

National Stalking Awareness Week – 22-26 April 2024

The theme for this year’s National Stalking Awareness Week is ‘join forces against stalking.’ Effective multi-agency working is crucial for ensuring victims of stalking are supported from their point of disclosure right through until a conviction and beyond.
This year, the Suzy Lamplugh Trust are calling for agencies across the police, CPS and healthcare to join forces, and work together to effectively support victims of stalking.
The Suzy Lamplugh Trust are hosting a conference during which they will showcase examples of best practice and highlight the important role multi-agency working has played for the victims/survivors of stalking.
The National Stalking Awareness Conference is taking place on Tuesday 23rd April 2024, 10am-1pm, online. The tickets cost £36 – please note, the places are limited.
